After bringing Cleveland home a title last season, LeBron James continues to give back to his hometown, with the opening of his own public school.

According to Cleveland.com, the LeBron James Family Foundation has partnered with Akron Public Schools for a public school aimed at helping at-risk youth called the I Promise School.

“This school is so important to me because our vision is to create a place for the kids in Akron who need it most — those that could fall through the cracks if we don’t do something,” LeBron said.

The school is based off the foundation’s existing I Promise Network programs, which has supported more than 1,100 Akron-area grade school students over the past six years.

Students currently in the I Promise program will continue as in, while the new school will open in 2018 with newly identified students.
